The formula
NCV as received = NCV dry × (100 − M) / 100 − 0.02443 × M, in MJ/kg, where M is the moisture content on a wet basis in %. 1 kWh = 3.6 MJ. The dry-basis NCV depends on the fuel: use the value from your laboratory analysis; the default value is only a starting point.
